%20helped%20with%20both%20of%20these%20and%20they%20had%20a%20terrific%20time%20doing%20it.%20The%20dough%20is%20very%20easy%20to%20deal%20with%20and%20both%20of%20these%20recipes%20involve%20easy%20tasks%20that%20young%20children%20can%20do.%20Rolling%20out%20the%20dough%20with%20a%20rolling%20pin.%20Spreading%20soft%20butter%20on%20the%20dough.%20Sprinkling%20with%20cinnamon%20&%20sugar.%20Rolling%20the%20dough%20into%20little%20balls%20and%20dipping%20in%20melted%20butter.%20Brushing%20all%20of%20the%20treats%20with%20glaze.%20And%20of%20course%20eating!%20It%20was%20actually%20kind%20of%20exciting%20for%20them.%20One%20of%20the%20recipes%20calls%20for%20the%20Rhodes%20dinner%20rolls.%20I%20assume%20it's%20the%20same%20dough%20as%20the%20frozen%20bread%20loaves%20and%20that%20is%20what%20I%20used.%20This%20dough%20rises%20a%20lot%20more%20than%20you%20think%20it%20will%20so%20my%20cinnamon%20twists%20&%20my%20mini%20monkey%20breads%20were%20totally%20distorted%20looking.%20I%20would%20have%20made%20my%20twists%20a%20lot%20thinner%20and%20I%20would%20not%20have%20filled%20my%20muffin%20cups%20as%20full%20(and%20I%20used%20the%20JUMBO%20muffin%20cups%20-%20not%20standard%20size).%20So%20remember%20that%20tip%20if%20you%20make%20either%20of%20these.%20They%20grow...A%20LOT!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%202%20loaves%20for%20these%20recipes.%20One%20for%20the%20twists%20&%20one%20for%20the%20monkey%20breads.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGreat%20rectangle%20huh?%20My%205%20year%20old%20did%20it%20-%20what%20do%20you%20expect!?%20The%20dough%20rolls%20out%20easily%20but%20it's%20rather%20elastic%20like%20so%20it%20snaps%20back%20to%20it's%20original%20shape%20quickly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOops!%20Forgot%20to%20snap%20a%20photo%20of%20the%20twists%20before%20they%20went%20into%20the%20oven!%20Here%20they%20are%20as%20they%20are%20baking.%20Look%20how%20crowded%20they%20are%20on%20the%20cookie%20sheet.%20They%20didn't%20start%20out%20that%20way.%20They%20grew!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20cooled%20quickly%20and%20I%20used%20my%20pastry%20brush%20to%20glaze%20them%20with%20a%20rather%20thick%20layer%20of%20a%20simple%20powdered%20sugar%20glaze:%20powdered%20sugar,%20half%20n%20half%20&%20vanilla.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20lot%20of%20the%20butter%20&%20cinnamon%20mixture%20leaked%20out%20and%20caramelized%20under%20the%20twists.%20I'm%20not%20sure%20how%20I%20would%20have%20prevented%20that.%20I%20twisted%20&%20twisted%20but%20since%20the%20dough%20is%20kind%20of%20elastic,%20they%20untwisted%20themselves%20slightly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMini%20Monkey%20Breads%20below%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20I%20put%20about%205%20or%206%20small%20rolled%20balls%20of%20dough%20into%20each%20jumbo%20muffin%20cup.%20Either%20the%20balls%20should%20have%20been%20smaller%20or%20I%20should%20have%20put%20about%204%20in%20each%20cup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20flipped%20them%20out%20of%20the%20muffin%20tins%20about%201%20or%202%20minutes%20after%20baking.%20They%20slipped%20right%20out%20and%20were%20covered%20with%20a%20caramel%20like%20sauce%20on%20the%20bottom.%20Yummy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20flipped%20them%20over%20-%20caramel%20side%20on%20the%20bottom%20-%20and%20brushed%20glaze%20on%20the%20tops.%20A%20LOT%20of%20glaze!%20They%20are%20super%20easy%20to%20just%20pull%20apart%20and%20eat.%20Super%20gooey%20&%20soft!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEven%20though%20the%20caramel%20part%20is%20now%20on%20the%20bottom,%20it's%20not%20sticky.%20It%20kind%20of%20hardens%20into%20a%20semisoft%20caramel%20like%20texture%20that%20is%20somewhat%20slick,%20but%20not%20sticky%20at%20all.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20glaze%20cools%20and%20leaves%20kind%20of%20a%20soft%20crunchy%20texture.%20Kind%20of%20like%20biting%20into%20a%20glazed%20doughnut.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECinnamon%20Twists%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Erhodesbread.com%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E8%20Rhodes%20Texas%E2%84%A2%20Rolls%20or%2012%20Rhodes%E2%84%A2%20Dinner%20Rolls,%20thawed%20and%20risen%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECut%20each%20dinner%20roll%20into%206%20equal%20pieces.%20In%20a%20bowl,%20combine%20butter%20and%20corn%20syrup%20and%20stir%20until%20well%20mixed.%20In%20another%20bowl,%20combine%20sugar%20and%20cinnamon%20and%20mix%20well.%20Dip%206%20roll%20pieces%20at%20a%20time%20in%20the%20butter%20mixture%20and%20then%20in%20the%20sugar%20mixture.%20Place%206%20pieces%20in%20each%20well%20sprayed%20cup%20of%20a%2012%20cup%20muffin%20tin.%20Repeat%20with%20remaining%20roll%20pieces.%20Cover%20with%20sprayed%20plastic%20wrap%20and%20let%20double%20in%20size.%20Remove%20wrap%20and%20bake%20at%20350%C2%B0F%2015-20%20minutes.%20Cool%203-4%20minutes%20before%20removing%20from%20pan.%20Combine%20icing%20ingredients%20and%20mix%20well.%20Drizzle%20over%20monkey%20breads%20if%20desired.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
