.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20addition%20to%20recipes%20Dreena%20provides%20a%20reference%20section%20entitled%20Plant%20Powered%20Pantry.%20%20Here%20she%20discusses%20the%20variety%20of%20ingredients%20she%20uses.%20%20She%20provides%20examples%20of%20their%20flavors,%20where%20to%20use%20them,%20how%20to%20cook%20them,%20what%20compliments%20nicely%20with%20them,%20etc.%20%20For%20example:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20could%20sit%20and%20just%20read%20this%20section%20like%20a%20book%20and%20absorb%20all%20that%20she%20has%20here.%20%20It%20is%20the%20perfect%20reference%20guide%20for%20those%20who%20may%20not%20be%20as%20familiar%20with%20whole%20foods%20or%20vegan%20foods.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20all%20of%20her%20recipes%20Dreena%20includes%20whether%20they%20are%20gluten%20free%20or%20nut%20free%20(to%20be%20sensitive%20to%20those%20with%20allergies).%20%20This%20did%20serve%20to%20provide%20me%20with%20a%20little%20bit%20of%20confusion.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20my%20house%20we%20don't%20have%20any%20allergies%20or%20sensitivies%20to%20gluten.%20%20So%20for%20me%20figuring%20out%20the%20various%20types%20of%20flour%20(millet,%20chickpea,%20rice,%20spelt,%20etc)%20has%20been%20a%20bit%20challenging.%20%20It%20has%20been%20a%20welcome%20exposure%20though%20as%20I%20feel%20like%20I%20always%20depend%20on%20all%20purpose%20flour.%20%20The%20flavors%20these%20flours%20provide%20enhance%20the%20recipes%20and%20have%20opened%20a%20new%20world%20for%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20recipes%20also%20contain%20hints%20and%20tips%20through%20Dreena's%20%22Ingredients%20411%22%20and%20%22If%20This%20Apron%20Could%20Talk.%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20selected%20two%20recipes%20from%20the%20book:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECoconut%20Banana%20Muffins%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20have%20just%20a%20hint%20of%20banana,%20a%20slight%20chew%20from%20the%20coconut,%20and%20a%20crunch%20from%20the%20turbinado%20sugar%20topping.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20excited%20that%20oat%20flour%20was%20one%20of%20the%20ingredients%20as%20I%20got%20to%20make%20my%20own.%20%20I%20took%20quick%20oats%20and%20gave%20them%20a%20spin%20in%20my%20vita-mix.%20%20I%20was%20stunned%20because%20it%20worked%20like%20a%20charm%20and%20was%20so%20easy.%20%20I%20doubted%20that%20it%20would%20make%20the%20flour%20so%20fine,%20but%20have%20no%20fear%20it%20really%20does%20work.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20were%20the%20perfect%20muffins%20to%20get%20my%20crew%20going%20on%20their%20first%20day%20of%20school.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20tried%20out:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHoly%20Smokes%20Batman...this%20is%20good.%20%20The%20cake%20is%20super%20moist%20which%20is%20on%20account%20of%20adding%202%20whole%20lemons.%20%20Yes%20that%20step%20is%20what%20intrigued%20me%20to%20make%20the%20recipe.%20%20You%20boil%20two%20lemons%20and%20they%20go%20in%20this%20cake%20(minus%20the%20seeds).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20love%20the%20combination%20of%20strawberry%20and%20lemon%20together%20so%20I%20chose%20the%20Dreena's%20strawberry%20sauce,%20instead%20of%20the%20maple%20sauce%20recommended%20by%20the%20book,%20to%20accompany%20the%20cake%EF%BB%BF.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOverall%20I%20love%20the%20diversity%20of%20the%20book.%20%20I%20am%20still%20struggling%20with%20the%20variety%20of%20ingredients%20that%20I%20don't%20normally%20keep%20on%20hand,%20but%20I%20am%20slowly%20adding%20items%20to%20my%20pantry%20so%20that%20I%20can%20make%20more%20of%20her%20recipes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20this%20cookbook%20is%20definitely%20one%20to%20be%20added%20to%20your%20collection.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20would%20like%20to%20hear%20another%20opinion,%20and%20perfectly%20penned%20review%20check%20out%20Gena%20at%20Choosing%20Raw%20who%20also%20reviewed%20this%20book.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
