,%20similar%20to%20that%20of%20a%20tomatillo,%20produce%20a%20flavor%20that%20to%20me%20was%20nearly%20a%20cross%20between%20a%20cherry%20and%20a%20tomato.%20It%20was%20a%20very%20unusual%20but%20mild%20flavor%20that%20quickly%20had%20me%20wanting%20more.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUnfortunately,%20although%20I%20kept%20returning%20to%20the%20market,%20the%20vendor%20did%20not.%20See,%20they%20aren%E2%80%99t%20regulars%20at%20our%20market,%20and%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20say%20as%20I%20blame%20them,%20because%20there%20is%20a%20much%20greater%20venue%20for%20them%20about%20an%20hour%20south%20of%20us%20in%20Edwardsville.%20Lucky%20for%20me,%20though,%20Nathan%20and%20Amy%20(of%202%20Acre%20Farm)%20had%20given%20me%20their%20contact%20info%20(and%20blog%20address%20%E2%80%93%20woo%20hoo!)%20and%20I%20was%20able%20to%20track%20them%20down%20and%20get%20several%20more%20pints%20from%20them%20so%20I%20could%20make%20a%20batch%20of%20jam.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20already%20shipped%20my%20box%20for%20the%20Jam%20Exchange%20at%20the%20time,%20so%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20get%20to%20include%20a%20jar%20of%20this,%20although%20I%20would%20have%20loved%20to,%20but%20Ginny%20and%20I%20had%20fun%20making%20it%20while%20I%20was%20in%20Iowa%20visiting%20her%20last%20weekend.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20husked%20all%20the%20cherries,%20and%20then%20used%20the%20recipe%20that%20Nathan%20included%20with%20my%20cherries,%20although%20we%20had%20to%20adjust%20a%20little%20for%20a%20slightly%20larger%20quantity%20of%20fruit,%20hence%20a%20slightly%20longer%20boiling%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20end%20result%20was%20a%20wonderfully%20tangy%20jam%20that%20I%20am%20looking%20forward%20to%20having%20on%20biscuits%20for%20breakfast%20this%20winter.%20I%E2%80%99ll%20definitely%20be%20looking%20for%20these%20again%20next%20year!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheck%20out%202%20Acre%20Farm%E2%80%99s%20blog%20and%20see%20all%20the%20great%20stuff%20they%E2%80%99ve%20been%20growing%20this%20year!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20saucepan,%20add%20ground%20cherries,%20lemon,%20water,%20and%20Sure-Jel.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20cherries%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20mash%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBe%20sure%20they%20are%20all%20mashed%20so%20that%20they%20will%20absorb%20the%20sugar.%20Add%20the%20sugar,%20then%20return%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20continue%20boiling%20up%20to%208%20minutes,%20or%20until%20the%20mixture%20gels%20using%20a%20cold%20plate%20to%20test%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%204%20half%20pint%20jars.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
