,%20I%20was%20blessed%20to%20find%20one%20or%20two%20people%20I%20really%20clicked%20with.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20the%20company%20where%20I've%20worked%20for%20the%20last%2010%20years%20has%20been%20no%20exception.%20It%20was%20way%20back%20in%20the%20early%20days%20when%20I%20was%20still%20fairly%20new%20and%20working%20at%20the%20DC%20office%20that%20I%20met%20my%20friend,%20Mya.%20Despite%20that%20fact%20that%20neither%20of%20us%20have%20lived%20in%20DC%20for%20many%20years%20and%20she's%20changed%20fields%20for%20an%20actual%20field%20(she's%20a%20farmer%20now%20-%20sorry%20about%20the%20pun,%20I%20just%20couldn't%20help%20it...)%20we%20are%20still%20friends.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMya%20is%20one%20of%20those%20wonderful%20people%20who%20is%20smart,%20funny,%20charming,%20loyal,%20unfailing%20polite,%20and%20wants%20to%20do%20what's%20right.%20(If%20you%20guessed%20that%20she's%20from%20the%20Midwest,%20you're%20right!)%20She's%20also%20a%20good%20cook%20and%20would%20often%20invite%20me%20and%20my%20then-boyfriend-now-husband%20over%20to%20her%20group%20house%20for%20dinner%20with%20her%20housemates%20and%20their%20other%20friends.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20at%20the%20end%20of%20one%20of%20these%20lively%20meals%20that%20I%20was%20introduced%20to%20these%20brownies.%20They%20made%20quite%20an%20impression%20on%20me...%20Naturally,%20I%20asked%20Mya%20for%20her%20recipe.%20She%20seemed%20almost%20surprised%20-%20in%20her%20mind,%20they%20were%20nothing%20special%20-%20just%20her%20%22cupboard%22%20brownies.%20But%20they%20were%20everything%20I%20was%20looking%20for%20in%20a%20brownie%20-%20moist,%20crumb-y,%20chocolatey%20and%20mild%20enough%20that%20I%20could%20contemplate%20eating%20half%20a%20pan%20of%20them...%20(that%20is%20a%20quality%20I%20am%20always%20looking%20for%20in%20a%20chocolate%20cake,%20too,%20in%20case%20you%20were%20wondering.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShe%20obligingly%20wrote%20out%20her%20recipe%20for%20me%20on%20an%20index%20card.%20It%20is,%20in%20fact,%20wondrously%20simple.%20And%20very%20quick%20and%20easy%20to%20make.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGive%20them%20a%20shot%20sometime.%20If%20you%20prefer%20something%20a%20little%20more%20intense,%20just%20add%20some%20chocolate%20chunks%20or%20chips%20and/or%20nuts%20to%20the%20batter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20to%20old%20friends.%20And%20to%20brownies!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECupboard%20Brownies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%20a%209%22x13%22%20pan%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20a%20note%20-%20I%20recommend%20using%20organic%20everything%20if%20at%20all%20possible,%20especially%20for%20the%20butter%20and%20eggs%20(and%20pasture-raised%20eggs%20are%20way%20better%20for%20all%20involved%20if%20you%20have%20access%20to%20them.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20300%20degrees%20F%20and%20grease%20the%20baking%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Cream%20the%20butter%20and%20sugar%20together.%20Add%20the%20flour,%20cocoa,%20eggs,%20salt%20and%20vanilla%20and%20mix%20well%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Pour%20the%20batter%20out%20into%20the%20prepared%20baking%20pan%20and%20bake%20for%2040-50%20minutes,%20until%20a%20toothpick%20or%20fork%20comes%20out%20clean.%20Serve%20warm%20with%20vanilla%20ice%20cream%20(I'm%20a%20real%20traditionalist%20on%20brownies%20and%20vanilla%20ice%20cream%20-%20they%20just%20seem%20made%20for%20one%20another%20-%20but%20you%20should,%20of%20course,%20use%20whatever%20flavor%20floats%20your%20boat.)%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
