Over the years I was a single mother of four who always had friends at the house. That is where the love of cooking for crowds began. The smiling faces and full bellies are all the gratitude needed! In an effort to continually nourish this love of cooking for crowds, I find myself cooking for the people I work with! Department meetings, saturday lunches and any event that allows me to feed groups of people. Cooking for just two is nice, but cooking for the masses is sooooo much better! Happy Cooking!

Nanny Brannen is the first kitchen memory I recall. She would steam blue pincher crabs and pull the meat out for me. I would sit, for what seemed like hours, as she prepared a plate of delicious crab meat for my delight. This is where I learned the patience that cooking often requires. My birth mother began teaching me to cook at the tender age of 6. I suppose she was preparing me to cook for my dad and sybling, as she knew the Good Lord would take her early. Doris Kelly George, my ex-mother in law was the first adult cooking influence! She was a ranch cook and man could she cook for the masses! Everything was homemade! She was definitely my kitchen mentor! Since she stored most of her recipes in her head, it took quite awhile to duplicate her creations. Tucked safely in my head, I have tried to create actual recipe cards for my children. Stephen Lloyd is my current kitchen mentor, best friend and husband. In our family, if we feel like fancy sauces and "foofoo food" my husband will cook. If we feel like country "comfort food" cookin, that would be my department. We compliment each other completely and love being in the kitchen together!
