Acerca de mí
Hello,
My name is Lisa, I must confess I love great food. I decided to create The Creole Contessa blog after cooking and eating a great meal with my family Big Goo the hubby of almost twenty years and my lil’ Contessa Summer aka “Baby Girl” who is 13 going on 30. I told Big Goo and Baby Girl, it is just not fair not to share these great recipes with the world; and the Creole Contessa blog was born.
Influencias de Cocina
I was raised in California but spent every Summer in Louisiana with my late Grandma Frances who could out cook anyone. I was taught how to cook at a very young age by my mom and aunties. I would stand in the kitchen and watch every detail of everything they did…I used to think to myself I can do this, I can do this probably better (lol). I went from a watcher of great cooks to helper of great cooks to becoming a great cook.
I was taught how to stuff roast, make sausages, chop, baste, slow cook, quick cook and make food that represented my soul. The unspoken family motto was and remains today that one should never cook food for someone else that you would not eat or serve too your family.
My love of cooking lead to my love of cookbooks and I would read, and re-read them like great novels. I cherish all my cookbooks and collect them like one would collect fine wine. I’ve spent hours devouring the pages, looking at the pictures and thinking like I did when I was a kid, I can do this, I can probably do this better (lol).
My family loves great food, having fun and loves to shop! “You gotta look cute to cook cute,” is what I say! Join me as I Let the Good Times Roll…
