Acerca de mí
My name is Mireya Merritt, but you can call me Mia. I’m a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and alumni of Le CordonBleu. I was fortunate to grow up in California, the birth state of the NewCuisine movement, and I have connections to Spain where I enjoy its richfood and cultural traditions.
For health issues, Rheumatoid Arthritis to be specific, I switched entirely over to whole grains and stopped eating sugar, dairy, and meat, while also making several other diet and exercise tweaks. The change has been remarkable. I feel strong, healthy, and I have stable weight and energy levels. It is important to me to share what I’ve learned so others can experience healthful living.
Influencias de Cocina
My grandmother worked for a flour company testing recipes and she was always making cookies and other sweets. My mother is a great cook and her specialty, though sh may not agree with it, is Mexican food. I've also learned a lot about food from traveling throughout Europe, especially Spain, where I've been able to see great food being made, and also got to enjoy eating it.
