I am a stay at home mom with a 3 and 5 yr old so we decided since I am home why don't we save money by baking our own bread? So for the past month or so I have made bread (by hand, no bread machine) on an average of every other day. I also make from scratch my own cakes and icings/frostings. Once you taste something you made yourself you tend to not go back to the pasteurized tasting boxed shelved items. Homemade is so much better and it teaches the kids science and math not to mention the fact that they learn you don't have to buy everything but can make it from scratch instead. WE LOVE BAKING!!!!!

I can't say anyone necessarily influenced my love of cooking but since I've been with my fiance my love for food and how to prepare it has had an impact. He used be in the restaurant business so he is very knowledgeable when it comes to preparing foods. As far as baking, my Aunt Sandy has always made the cakes in our family. They are always the most delicious moist cakes. It wasn't until recently that I learned she always uses boxed mixes and adds pudding, that's the secret to her deliciousness(cheater). I would say if anyone has influenced me it would be her. Thanks Aunt Sandy for instilling my love for fattening foods. :)
