Acerca de mí
I a divorced woman of 47. I was married for 24 years and raised three beautiful, intelligent and generous young ladies. My oldest daughter, Brooke, just gave my first grandchild, Eleanor. She is absolutely the light of my life; next to the wonderful man that came into my life three years ago, Kevin. He has made me believe that all men are not created equal and there are still some with integrity, honor and faithfulness. He makes me feel special, beautiful and appreciated every day. I love to take photographs, take walks and enjoy cooking an discovering new wonderful recipes. I have considered going into that career for a living, but decided that I wasn't prepared for the long hours and stress sometimes involved in working in the hospitality industry; as I have worked as a waitress, bartender and hostess, off and on, for almost thirty years. I now just enjoy inviting friends and family over to try and enjoy new and old recipes and take any opportunity to make a dish to gift to others, i.e.; Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, birthdays, etc. I also enjoy traveling and sampling all of the foods and dishes of all the wonderful different cultures. I am a very outgoing, honest and generous person, sometimes to my detriment, but that is just who I am and I will continue to do what makes me happy. I am also a tolerant, open-minded and fair person and tend to speak my mind, albeit with sensitivity and honesty. I don't like phoney, superficial and obnoxious people, they don't work well with me and I tend to ignore such people or avoid them all together. I am spiritual and believe in the Lord, but have a serious distrust and dislike for organized religion. My church is where ever I can speak with god, which generally is in privacy or outside some place quiet. Well, that is me in a nutshell, It perhaps may be too much information :-)
Influencias de Cocina
My home-economics teacher, Mrs. Colcord, The chef at one of my favorite restaurants, Phil and mostly my mother and grandmother, Thanks Mom and Nana for all the great family restaurants and for allowing me to make a mess cooking with you!! I also, enjoy reading cooking magazines, online cooking sites and browsing cookbooks in bookstores and sometimes I buy them too. Someone that gave a negative feeling for chefs and cooking was a man named, Bill. He was an egotistical, self-important, bitter man who needed to appreciate and respect the hard working people standing beside him trying to serve good food with pride and a smile. He went through more help than I have ever seen in my life. I believe that making a restaurant successful takes teamwork and mutual respect, none of which he had. But, fortunately I didn't take it personally and was soon out of there and lifted up in the process. I didn't let his attitude keep me from working in the industry in the future, if necessary.
