Receta Beef Stew With Wine Sauce

Ingredientes
- 1 1/2 pound beef chuck (cut into 1" chunks)
- 1 T shortening
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 med. onion, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 c. red wine
- 1/4 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 3 carrots, cut in 1/2" diagonal pcs
- 1 1/2 c. celery, 1" pcs
- 4 med. potatoes, cut in quarters
Direcciones
- Brown beef in shortening. Add in garlic and onion. Saute till transparent. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Stir in soup, wine and water. Cover and simmer 30 min. Add in herbs and ketchup. Arrange vegetables on top of meat. Cover and simmer till tender (about 1 1/2 hrs). Add in more water if necessary. About 6 servings.
