%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20only%20have%20the%20two%20flavours%20at%20the%20moment,%20the%20meaty%20ones%20and%20the%20apple%20ones,%20but%20hopefully%20they%20will%20add%20more%20as%20time%20goes%20on.%20%20In%20any%20case%20I%20picked%20up%20a%20package%20of%20each%20when%20we%20were%20there%20the%20other%20day.%20%20They%20are%20just%20so%20good,%20I%20could%20not%20resist!%20%20Today%20I%20used%20the%20apple%20ones%20in%20a%20delicious%20stove%20top%20braise.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20had%20a%20small%20cabbage%20which%20needed%20using%20up,%20what%20they%20call%20a%20white%20cabbage%20over%20here,%20but%20back%20home%20we%20just%20called%20it%20cabbage.%20%20%20I%20browned%20the%20sausage%20and%20then%20added%20thinly%20shredded%20cabbage%20to%20the%20pan,%20and%20allowed%20it%20to%20wilt%20slightly%20before%20adding%20some%20thyme%20and%20apple%20juice,%20popped%20on%20a%20lid%20and%20let%20it%20bubble%20away.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20about%2020%20minutes%20or%20so,%20I%20removed%20the%20cabbage%20and%20kept%20it%20warm,%20whilst%20I%20finished%20cooking%20the%20sauces%20in%20the%20pan%20juices,%20until%20they%20were%20golden%20brown%20all%20over%20and%20lightly%20glazed%20with%20the%20juices.%20%20A%20couple%20of%20them%20served%20hot%20on%20top%20of%20that%20lovely%20cabbage%20and%20along%20side%20some%20carrots%20and%20some%20of%20this%20spring's%20Jersey%20Royal%20potatoes%20made%20for%20a%20simple,%20yet%20beautiful%20supper.%20%20%20Delicious!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Braised%20Bangers%20and%20Cabbage*Serves%204%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEasy%20and%20delicious.%20%20This%20is%20a%20meal%20that%20cooks%20itself.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelt%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20skillet%20large%20enough%20to%20hold%20your%20sausages%20and%20the%20cabbage.%20%20(You%20will%20need%20one%20with%20a%20lid.)%20%20Once%20the%20butter%20begins%20to%20foam,%20add%20the%20sausages.%20%20Brown%20over%20medium%20heat%20on%20first%20one%20side,%20and%20then%20the%20other.%20%20Once%20they%20are%20browned,%20remove%20and%20set%20aside.%20%20Add%20the%20sliced%20cabbage.%20%20Cook%20and%20stir%20over%20medium%20heat%20just%20until%20it%20begins%20to%20wilt.,%20Return%20the%20sausages%20to%20the%20skillet,%20tucking%20them%20in%20amongst%20the%20cabbage.%20Sprinkle%20all%20with%20the%20thyme.%20%20Drizzle%20with%20the%20honey%20and%20pour%20over%20the%20apple%20juice.%20%20Cover%20tightly%20and%20turn%20to%20low.%20%20Braise%20for%2015%20to%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20lid%20and%20scoop%20out%20the%20cabbage.%20%20Cover%20and%20keep%20warm.%20%20Turn%20up%20the%20heat%20under%20the%20skillet%20and%20continue%20to%20cook%20the%20sausages,%20as%20the%20liquid%20bubbles%20away,%20turning%20them%20occasionally,%20until%20they%20are%20nicely%20glazed%20and%20the%20pan%20has%20some%20nice%20thick%20juices%20in%20it.%20%20Divide%20the%20sausages%20and%20cabbage%20amongst%204%20heated%20plates%20and%20drizzle%20with%20some%20of%20those%20scrummy%20pan%20drippings.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPotatoes%20go%20very%20well%20with%20this,%20either%20steamed%20new%20potatoes%20or%20mash.%20%20It's%20up%20to%20you!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20could%20have%20some%20applesauce%20on%20the%20side%20with%20this,%20but%20I%20like%20mine%20with%20a%20good%20grainy%20mustard!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
