  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8-inch square cake pan and set aside. Set aside. In medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. In large bowl, mix mayonnaise, hot water and vanilla. Add in dry ingredients and beat with an electric mixer on low speed till smooth.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake till a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean, about 35 min. Remove to wire rack and let cold.
  5. Just before serving, dust top with confectioners' sugar.
