%20but%20she%20was%20nice%20enough%20to%20let%20me%20make%20Cookie%20Monster%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecookies%20for%20the%20occasion.%20I%20did%20also%20help%20her%20make%20Elmo%20cupcakes%20though%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20take%20a%20little%20bit%20of%20time%20but%20it's%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebecause%20the%20grass%20tip%20takes%20a%20while%20to%20pipe,%20and%20you're%20doing%20two%20dozen%20if%20you%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emake%20the%20whole%20recipe.%20My%20goal%20in%20making%20these%20was%20a%20basic%20sugar%20cookie%20that%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewas%20soft%20with%20a%20hint%20of%20flavor%20and%20wouldn't%20break%20when%20someone%20picked%20them%20up%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edue%20to%20the%20icing.%20Of%20course%20the%20aesthetics%20were%20pretty%20much%20the%20most%20important%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Epart%20because%20if%20they%20weren't%20attractive%20nobody%20would%20want%20to%20eat%20them.%20I%20wish%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewould%20have%20had%20to%20time%20to%20more%20characters%20though%20because%20these%20were%20really%20fun%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%20make.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20did%20use%20store%20bought%20frosting%20to%20make%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20process%20quicker.%20I%20know%20it%20doesn't%20take%20any%20time%20at%20all%20to%20make%20frosting%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebut%20just%20let%20me%20have%20this%20one%20:).%20I%20bought%20chocolate%20frosting%20and%20used%20black%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egel%20to%20make%20it%20darker%20and%20I%20was%20really%20happy%20with%20the%20results.%20If%20you%20start%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewith%20white%20frosting%20and%20try%20to%20turn%20it%20black%20you%20will%20use%20a%20lot%20of%20black%20food%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecoloring.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20gel%20colors%20to%20get%20all%20of%20my%20colors%20(all%20two%20of%20them%20:)%20).%20My%20gel%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecolors%20look%20like%20these%20even%20though%20this%20isn't%20where%20I%20bought%20them.%20I%20will%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eprobably%20buy%20them%20here%20when%20I%20need%20more%20because%20they%20aren't%20available%20where%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Epurchased%20them%20before.%20I%20also%20have%20Wilton%20colors%20and%20those%20are%20fine%20also%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebecause%20they%20are%20gels.%20Gels%20will%20give%20you%20a%20more%20vibrant%20color%20than%20the%20liquid%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edroppers%20without%20using%20as%20much%20coloring.%20They%20are%20more%20expensive%20but%20they%20last%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ea%20lot%20longer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecookie%20monster%20face%20I%20liked%20in%20about%20the%20size%20I%20wanted%20it%20then%20trimming%20it%20so%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecould%20cut%20around%20it%20on%20a%20cookie.%20I%20cut%20the%20dough%20with%20a%20round%20cookie%20cutter%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eabout%20the%20size%20of%20my%20cookie%20template%20then%20I%20laid%20the%20template%20on%20the%20dough%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etrimmed%20around%20it%20while%20leaving%20the%20bottom%20round.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20started%20decorating,%20I%20started%20with%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20eyes%20and%20piped%20little%20mounds%20of%20frosting%20then%20used%20a%20slightly%20set%20finger%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etip%20to%20smooth%20out%20the%20point%20that%20was%20created%20when%20piping%20the%20mounds.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eblack%20frosting%20I%20piped%20on%20the%20pupils%20and%20used%20a%20slightly%20wet%20finger%20tip%20to%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esmooth%20those%20also.%20I%20piped%20the%20outline%20of%20where%20I%20wanted%20the%20mouth%20on%20all%20of%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20cookies%20then%20added%20water%20a%201/2%20teaspoon%20at%20a%20time%20to%20the%20remaining%20black%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efrosting%20until%20it%20was%20not%20quite%20a%20pourable%20consistency%20and%20still%20able%20to%20be%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Epiped%20with%20a%20pastry%20bag.%20I%20filled%20in%20the%20mouth%20with%20the%20smoother%20black%20frosting%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20it%20settled%20to%20a%20pretty%20smooth%20finish%20on%20its%20own.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emaking%20Cookie%20Monster's%20hair%20and%20I%20think%20it%20worked%20beautifully.%20I%20am%20really%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehappy%20with%20the%203D%20way%20that%20these%20cookies%20came%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlease%20ask%20if%20you%20have%20any%20questions.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHappy%20Baking!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBasic%20Sugar%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%20about%202%20dozen%203%E2%80%9D%20cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20375%20degrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20In%20the%20bowl%20of%20your%20mixer%20cream%20butter%20and%20sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Euntil%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Beat%20in%20extracts%20and%20the%20egg.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20In%20a%20separate%20bowl%20combine%20baking%20powder%20with%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eflour%20and%20add%20a%20little%20at%20a%20time%20to%20the%20wet%20ingredients.%20The%20dough%20will%20be%20very%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Estiff.%20It%20may%20be%20necessary%20to%20finish%20working%20the%20dough%20into%20a%20ball%20on%20a%20wooden%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eboard%20using%20your%20hands.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20Do%20not%20chill%20the%20dough.%20Divide%20into%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eworkable%20batches,%20roll%20out%20onto%20a%20floured%20surface%20and%20cut.%20You%20want%20these%3C/p%3E%3
