Receta Dom Pedro Drink
A bartender friend of mine got me hooked on a liqueur from South Africa called, AMARULA CREAM, and I can't get enough of it. It's like a fruity, exotic version of Bailey's Irish Cream, & to me it tastes like caramelized fruit (mango, papaya). My friend said this is the most popular drink made with Amarula. It makes a great after-dinner drink.
AMARULA CREAM is made from the fruit of the Marula tree, that's found in South Africa. The fruit is fermented into a wine that's aged in oak barrels for 2 yrs. It's then mixed with fresh cream.
Ingredientes
- 5 oz. vanilla ice cream (about 1 large scoop)
- 1 ½ oz. heavy cream, very cold
- 1 shot Amarula cream liqueur
- Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings, to garnish
Direcciones
- Place all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend well. Pour into a glass and garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.
- *VARIATION: To kick it up a notch, add a little vodka, brandy or cognac. This will thin it out so it's more like a cocktail, and also cut some of the sweetness.
- DOM PEDRO SHAKE:
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 shots Amarula Cream Liqueur
- Combine in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass.
