  1. Soak washed cucumbers in salt water (1/3 c. salt to each qt of water) overnight or at least 6 hrs.
  2. Drain and dry.
  3. Boil vinegar, water and sugar until dissolved and clear.
  4. Add in cucumbers and let simmer over low heat until they lose their grass green color.
  5. Place 1 tsp. mixed pickling spice into each jar.
  6. Add in pickles and warm syrup.
  7. Seal and place in warm water bath for 15 min.
  8. Remove from bath and cool.
  9. Depending on size of cukes, it makes 2-3 pints.
