Gluten Free finds at Sobey's
On a recent trip to Sobey's in the west end of Edmonton in an effort to fill my cart with foods that would help get me to the $75 mark in order to get the 75 bonus air miles (yes I am a sucker for these deals and try to cash in on them whenever possible). I was just shy of reaching my $75 and I didn't really want to purchase anything that wouldn't be used or wasn't actually needed or useful to our family just for the sake of getting the air miles. I like my air miles, but I do not like to throw money away or waste food.

.%20I%20was%20just%20shy%20of%20reaching%20my%20$75%20and%20I%20didn't%20really%20want%20to%20purchase%20anything%20that%20wouldn't%20be%20used%20or%20wasn't%20actually%20needed%20or%20useful%20to%20our%20family%20just%20for%20the%20sake%20of%20getting%20the%20air%20miles.%20I%20like%20my%20air%20miles,%20but%20I%20do%20not%20like%20to%20throw%20money%20away%20or%20waste%20food.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst%20I%20was%20in%20the%20gluten%20free%20section%20located%20near%20the%20front%20of%20this%20particular%20store.%20Beside%20the%20gluten%20free%20section%20is%20a%20small%20Kosher%20section%20(there's%20also%20Kosher%20meat%20located%20in%20the%20meat%20department%20in%20this%20store%20for%20those%20who%20didn't%20know%20this%20already.%20I%20was%20pleased%20to%20find%20that%20they%20had%20one%20of%20my%20old%20favorites%20Garden%20Lites%20in%20Broccoli%20&%20Cheese,%20The%20company%20also%20makes%20a%20variety%20of%20other%20products%20that%20are%20gluten%20free%20and%20kosher.%20They%20are%20all%20basically%20a%20single%20serving%20meal%20or%20addition%20to%20a%20meal.%20This%20one%20is%20my%20long%20time%20favorite.%20I%20hardly%20ever%20buy%20these%20types%20of%20things%20anymore,%20but%20as%20I%20said%20I%20needed%20to%20get%20those%20air%20miles,%20right.%20I%20think%20this%20item%20costs%20about%20$5%20but%20I%20truly%20cannot%20remember.%20I%20enjoyed%20it%20for%20lunch%20that%20very%20same%20day,%20though%20I%20will%20share%20that%20my%20little%20one%20ate%20most%20of%20it%20and%20she%20loved%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20later%20walking%20through%20the%20bakery%20section,%20which%20you%20would%20think%20would%20not%20be%20where%20you%20would%20likely%20find%20a%20gluten%20free%20shopper.%20However,%20I%20was%20in%20search%20of%20the%20Our%20Compliments%20bread%20as%20I%20have%20not%20yet%20tried%20it.%20It%20seems%20that%20every%20time%20to%20go%20looking%20for%20it,%20they%20are%20always%20out.%20When%20I%20turned%20around%20I%20saw%20this%20new%20product%20on%20the%20shelf%20that%20caught%20my%20attention.%20I%20admit%20it%20mostly%20caught%20my%20attention%20because%20it%20was%20only%20$2.99.%20The%20product%20is%20called%20Broghies.%20I%20would%20describe%20these%20as%20puffed%20corn%20shaped%20similarly%20to%20a%20pita%20or%20shell.%20They%20are%20so%20light%20and%20filled%20with%20air.%20The%20company%20is%20a%20Canadian%20company%20and%20who%20doesn't%20like%20to%20support%20fellow%20Canadians?%20Right.%20This%20product%20does%20not%20say%20Gluten%20Free%20on%20the%20package%20and%20I%20know%20that%20the%20only%20ingredients%20listed%20are%20corn%20flour,%20masa%20(corn)%20and%20salt.%20These%20make%20a%20nice%20light%20snack%20and%20have%20a%20great%20crunch%20that%20makes%20them%20great%20when%20you%20are%20looking%20for%20just%20a%20little%20something%20to%20tide%20you%20over.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20pleased%20to%20say%20that%20my%20shopping%20trip%20was%20a%20success,%20I%20found%20a%20few%20new%20gluten%20free%20items%20and%20of%20course%20I%20got%20my%20other%20groceries%20as%20well.%20Now,%20if%20only%20I%20can%20actually%20find%20that%20Our%20Compliments%20gluten%20free%20bread%20to%20try%20out...hmmm%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
