  2. Stir together 2 c. of flour and the salt in a large bowl. Heat the lowfat milk, margarine and sugar together over low heat till the margarine is soft. Add in the liquid to the flour. Beat for 2 min on the medium speed of an electric mixer or possibly 300 strokes by hand.
  3. Combine 1 c. of flour and the yeast. Add in to the batter. Beat for 2 min on medium speed or possibly 300 strokes by hand. Stir in the oats and caraway with a wooden spoon. Stir in sufficient additional flour to make a stiff dough.
  4. Turn out onto a floured board. Knead till smooth, 8 to 10 min. Place in a greased large bowl. Brush the top with vegetable oil. Cover with a damp kitchen towel and let rise in a hot place till double in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch the dough down. Divide it in half and shape to create two loaves. Place in two greased 8 1/2 " x 4 1/2
  6. " loaf pans. Brush with melted margarine or possibly butter.
  7. Cover and let rise till nearly double in size, about 1 hour. When almost doubled, preheat the oven to 375 F. Bake for about 40 min or possibly till brown. Cold before slicing.
  8. Makes 2 loaves.
