Receta Hungarian Cabbage Rolls

Ingredientes
- 1 lrg head of cabbage
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1 lb bulk sausage
- 1/2 sm box instant brown* rice
- 2 lrg sweet diced onions
- 1/2 x pod diced sweet green bell pepper
- 1 Tbsp. parsley
- 4 Tbsp. sauerkraut
- 4 Tbsp. canned tomatoes, diced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper.
- 4 c. sauerkraut
- 4 c. canned tomatoes
Direcciones
- Put one large head cabbage in large pot of salted boiling water. Boil on medium for 20 min or possibly until tender. Leave it on the stove and with a knife and fork, cut off one leaf at a time and follow the following directions: Using your hands mix the meat, rice, onions, bell pepper, parsley, 4 Tbsp sauerkraut and 4 Tbsp canned tomatoes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Grease bottom of large pot. Place about 1/2 c. mix on cabbage roll and roll up like an egg roll, tucking ends and trimming hard core top. Line pot with cabbage rolls. Sprinkle about 1 c. kraut and 1 c. tomatoes over rolls.
- Repeat to make 2 to 4 layers.
- Cook on medium heat for about 2 hrs.
- * Can use Uncle Ben's Rice mix of choice Good served with Cornbread & Black Eyed Peas (Hoppin' John).
