%20I%20soaked%20the%20sultanas%20in%20a%20miniature%20of%20Poire%20William,%20a%20pear%20flavoured%20eau%20de%20vie%20(40%25%20alcohol),%20that%20we%20brought%20back%20from%20holiday%20in%20France.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPoire%20William%20Baked%20and%20ready%20to%20unmould%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20dough%20is%20very%20similar%20to%20a%20brioche%20dough%20and%20is%20best%20made%20in%20a%20stand%20mixer,%20although%20it%20is%20possible%20to%20make%20it%20by%20hand.%20%20I%20don't%20have%20a%20dough%20hook%20for%20my%20vintage%20Kenwood%20Chef%20%20(something%20I'm%20planning%20on%20remedying%20very%20soon)%20so%20mixed%20the%20dough%20with%20the%20K%20beater%20which%20worked%20perfectly%20well%20-%20how%20very%20appropriate%20for%20this%20challenge!%20%20The%20process%20is%20not%20so%20much%20difficult%20and,%20while%20it%20takes%20a%20long%20time%20from%20start%20to%20finish,%20most%20of%20that%20doesn't%20involve%20you%20doing%20anything.%20%20I%20started%20making%20the%20dough%20on%20Saturday%20morning%20and%20the%20Kugelhopf%20was%20baked%20and%20complete%20by%20Sunday%20lunchtime.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKugelhopf%20just%20before%20being%20brushed%20with%20melted%20butter%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Kugelhopf%20slid%20easily%20out%20of%20the%20mould%20which%20had%20been%20brushed%20generously%20with%20the%20PME%20Release-a-cake.%20%20The%20silicone%20mould%20was%20very%20well%20behaved,%20I%20supported%20it%20in%20an%2020cm%20cake%20tin%20on%20a%20baking%20tray,%20mainly%20for%20ease%20of%20putting%20in%20and%20out%20of%20the%20oven,%20%20but%20it%20is%20quite%20a%20sturdy%20mould%20even%20without%20that.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20verdict?%20The%20Kugelhopf%20was%20a%20huge%20success,%20it%20was%20light,%20sweet%20and%20rich,%20the%20alcoholic%20sultanas%20don't%20overpower%20the%20soft%20bread.%20%20Everyone%20loved%20it%20and%20my%20mother-in-law%20said%20she%20preferred%20it%20to%20cake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20very%20impressed%20by%20this%20recipe%20and%20by%20the%20silicone%20mould%20and%20PME%20Release-a-cake%20from%20The%20Craft%20Company.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20chose%20products%20up%20to%20%C2%A310%20from%20The%20Craft%20Company%20to%20review.%20%20I%20was%20not%20paid%20for%20this%20review%20and%20my%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%20Labels:%20AlphaBakes,%20Bread,%20brioche,%20Dorie%20Greenspan,%20Kugelhopf,%20PME%20Release-a-cake,%20Silicone%20Tube%20Mould,%20The%20Craft%20Company%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
