Receta Kway Teow Goreng (fried flat rice noodles)

This is another favourite Malaysian noodles that is enjoyed for breakfast or dinner/supper. These flat rice noodles usually comes in two sizes; thicker or thinly sliced. I used the thinly sliced ones that are dried and sold in packets.

Ingredientes

  • 3 individual noodle rolls
  • Handful of beans sprouts
  • Pound 1 onion, 2 clove garlic, 1 red and green chilly
  • 100g fresh prawns
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp chilli paste
  • 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Direcciones

  1. Pre-soak the noodles in water (for about 45 minutes or until the noodles are soft).
  2. Heat a hot wok and add in oil. Then stir in the pounded items till light brown and add in the prawns.
  3. Add in the paste and sauce, saute for 2 or 3 minutes, some salt then water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes then add in the noodles.
  4. Make sure the noodles coat well with the sauces. Make a well and break one egg, scramble it with the noodles.
  5. Check for salt. Finally stir in the beans sprouts as it cooks really fast.
  6. Serve it hot as it is or with a fried chicken.
