,%20but%20she%20did%20a%20great%20job%20of%20teaching%20us%20safety%20and%20sanitation%20rules%20%E2%80%94%20with%20one%20exception.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20she%20had%20JUST%20said,%20%E2%80%9CTo%20put%20out%20a%20kitchen%20fire,%20smother%20it%20with%20baking%20soda,%E2%80%9D%20I%20would%E2%80%99ve%20remembered%20that%20forever.%20But%20instead%20she%20said,%20%E2%80%9CTo%20put%20out%20a%20kitchen%20fire,%20smother%20it%20with%20baking%20soda%20and%20NOT%20FLOUR.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20use%20flour,%20but%20baking%20soda%20instead.%20Flour%20and%20baking%20soda%20look%20so%20similar,%20right?!%20Baking%20soda,%20flour.%20Flour,%20baking%20soda.%20But%20one%20of%20them%20puts%20out%20a%20fire%20and%20the%20other%20one%20explodes.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20get%20them%20mixed%20up!%E2%80%9D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOkay,%20so%20I%E2%80%99m%20paraphrasing,%20but%20it%20was%20something%20like%20that.%20The%20immediate%20result%20was%20that%20the%20two%20were%20all%20jumbled%20in%20my%20head.%20The%20long-term%20result%20was%20that%20I%20stood%20paralyzed%20in%20my%20kitchen%20last%20Sunday%20after%20accidentally%20setting%20my%20leftover%20sandwich%20on%20fire%20(only%20I%20could%20manage%20to%20set%20a%20sandwich%20on%20fire)%20wondering%20what%20the%20heck%20to%20do.%20The%20fire%20was%20inside%20the%20oven,%20thankfully,%20so%20I%20turned%20the%20oven%20off%20and%20took%20a%20moment%20to%20congratulate%20myself%20for%20remembering%20that%20much.%20Then%20I%20faced%20the%20real%20issue:%20flour%20or%20baking%20soda?%20Baking%20soda%20or%20flour?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThankfully,%20we%20now%20have%20another%20valuable%20kitchen%20safety%20tool:%20Google.%20I%20called%20out%20to%20Mike,%20%E2%80%9CGOOGLE%20HOW%20TO%20PUT%20OUT%20KITCHEN%20FIRES!%E2%80%9D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20don%E2%80%99t%20think%20you%E2%80%99re%20supposed%20to%20Google%20in%20an%20emergency,%20but%20the%20closed%20oven%20bought%20us%20time.%20%E2%80%9CBaking%20soda,%E2%80%9D%20he%20called%20out%20from%20the%20living%20room.%20(He%E2%80%99s%20apparently%20way%20too%20cool%20to%20run%20in%20and%20make%20a%20fuss.)%20In%20a%20few%20moments%20the%20fire%20(and%20my%20pimento%20cheese%20sandwich,%20wahhhh)%20was%20doused%20in%20baking%20soda%20and%20all%20was%20well.%20Except%20the%20ash%20and%20baking%20soda%20everywhere.%20And%20the%20fact%20that%20our%20apartment%20smelled%20like%20a%20bonfire%20for%20the%20next%20few%20days.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20are%20three%20morals%20to%20this%20story:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20BAKING%20SODA.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20BAKING%20SODA.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20BAKING%20SODA.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20dessert,%20because%20that%E2%80%99s%20what%20comforted%20me%20after%20I%20legitimately%20mourned%20for%20my%20pimento%20cheese%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20these%20fluffy,%20springy%20mousse%20bars%20specifically%20to%20shine%20on%20your%20Easter%20holiday%20table.%20They%20are%20cool,%20tangy,%20and%20super%20creamy!%20Thanks%20to%20Philadelphia%20Cream%20Cheese%20for%20sponsoring%20me%20to%20create%20a%20delicious%20Easter%20dessert%20recipe.%20This%20is%20not%20an%20original%20Philadelphia%20Cream%20Cheese%20recipe%20%E2%80%94%20it%E2%80%99s%20all%20mine!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20year%20ago:%20French%20Silk%20Pie%20Bars%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFour%20years%20ago:%20Three%20Safe-to-Eat%20Cookie%20Doughs:%20Chocolate%20Chip,%20Sugar,%20and%20Cake%20Batter!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFive%20years%20ago:%20Oatmeal%20Cake%20with%20Broiled%20Icing%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
