,%20hosted%20by%20the%20lovely%20Brenda%20at%20Meal%20Planning%20Magic.%20Every%20Thursday%20for%2012%20weeks%20leading%20up%20to%20Christmas,%20we%20link%20up%20a%20holiday%20cookie%20or%20dessert%20recipe.%20I%20really%20want%20to%20start%20baking%20more%20so%20I%20thought%20this%20would%20be%20a%20perfect%20opportunity,%20plus%20I%20love%20themed%20goodies!%20We're%20in%20week%202%20of%20the%2012%20weeks,%20I%20missed%20the%201st%20week%20but%20it's%20all%20good%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20found%20this%20recipe%20over%20at%20Big%20Flavors%20From%20A%20Tiny%20Kitchen%20some%20time%20ago,%20and%20finally%20found%20the%20perfect%20opportunity%20to%20make%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20batter%20was%20actually%20very%20sticky%20and%20hard%20to%20manage.%20Definitely%20couldn't%20roll%20it%20into%20balls%20like%20Ashley%20did%20(dunno%20what%20I%20did%20wrong!)%20because%20it%20just%20got%20stuck%20all%20over%20my%20hands%20and%20would%20NOT%20form%20into%20a%20ball.%20So%20after%20I%20had%20to%20wipe%20all%20the%20gunk%20off%20and%20wash%20my%20hands,%20I%20decided%20to%20just%20scoop%20the%20balls%20by%20the%20spoonful%20onto%20the%20greased%20baking%20sheet,%20and%20then%20attempt%20to%20flatten%20it%20with%20a%20spoon,%20again%20with%20not%20very%20much%20success%20as%20it%20kept%20sticking%20to%20the%20spoon.%20Mess%20fest!%20And%20since%20I%20couldn't%20form%20balls%20I%20also%20didn't%20roll%20it%20in%20sugar,%20so%20I%20just%20sprinkled%20some%20granulated%20sugar%20on%20the%20top%20of%20each%20glob.%20Next%20time%20I'd%20try%20chilling%20the%20batter%20first%20and%20seeing%20if%20that%20makes%20it%20more%20roll-able.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20thought%20they%20turned%20out%20pretty%20good.%20I%20wasn't%20blown%20away%20by%20them,%20as%20I%20didn't%20think%20they%20were%20sweet%20enough.%20Maybe%20they%20needed%20more%20brown%20sugar%20or%20more%20sprinkled%20sugar%20on%20top?%20But%20then%20again,%20I%20didn't%20measure%20out%20the%20granulated%20sugar,%20I%20just%20sprinkled%20some%20on%20top%20of%20each%20cookie%20before%20baking.%20So%20maybe%20I%20needed%20to%20sprinkle%20more%20on.%20They%20also%20came%20out%20to%20more%20of%20a%20cake-like,%20blondie-like%20consistency...%20maybe%20because%20I%20didn't%20and%20couldn't%20flatten%20them%20very%20much?%20PJ%20wasn't%20too%20fond%20of%20them%20because%20he%20doesn't%20like%20thick,%20super%20soft%20cookies%20that%20taste%20more%20like%20cake%20than%20a%20cookie.%20Also,%20there%20was%20a%20hint%20of%20maple%20flavor%20but%20I%20could%20definitely%20up%20that%20amount%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20for%20next%20time,%20I%20would%20up%20the%20sugar%20and%20maple%20amount,%20as%20well%20as%20attempt%20to%20flatten%20them%20more%20somehow%20so%20that%20they%20don't%20bake%20so%20thick%20but%20more%20thin%20and%20possibly%20less%20cake-like.%20But%20I%20love%20the%20idea%20of%20it,%20because%20I%20really%20do%20love%20maple%20flavor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20cut%20the%20recipe%20down%20quite%20a%20bit%20since%20I%20didn't%20need%20to%20make%2060%20cookies!%20I%20only%20made%2015%20cookies%20so%20I%20pretty%20much%20cut%20all%20measurements%20down%20by%201/4th.%20Also,%20the%20original%20recipe%20calls%20for%20one%20egg,%20so%20I%20pretty%20much%20just%20tried%20to%20add%20about%201/4th%20of%20an%20egg,%20which%20obviously%20isn't%20an%20exact%20measurement.%20Maybe%20this%20could%20have%20possibly%20contributed%20to%20some%20of%20the%20mishaps?%20But%20how%20the%20heck%20do%20you%20measure%20out%201/4th%20of%20an%20egg?!%20I%20also%20didn't%20bother%20measuring%20out%20the%20granulated%20sugar%20because%20the%20original%20recipe%20called%20for%201/3%20cup%20and%20there%20was%20no%20way%20I%20was%20going%20to%20try%20to%20measure%20out%201/12%20cup%20lol!%20Again,%20that%20may%20have%20been%20a%20reason%20they%20weren't%20sweet%20enough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMaple%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eever%20so%20slightly%20adapted%20from%20Big%20Flavors%20From%20A%20Tiny%20Kitchen%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Yields:%2015%20cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%20Grease%20cookie%20sheet%20with%20cooking%20spray.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20bowl,%20cream%20together%20the%20butter%20and%20brown%20sugar.%20Add%20the%20egg,%20syrup%20and%20vanilla.%20Mix%20until%20well%20blended.%20Sift%20together%20the%20flour,%20salt%20and%20baking%20soda.%20Stir%20into%20mixture%20until%20well%20blended.%20Chill%20the%20batter%20for%205%20to%2010%20minutes%20at%20least%20to%20make%20it%20moldable.%20Shape%20into%201%20inch%20balls%20or%20scoops%20with%20a%20spoon,%20placing%20on%20cookie%20sheet%20about%202%20inches%20apart%20and%20flatten%20slightly.%20Sprinkle%20cookies%20with%20granulated%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%2010%20minutes%20in%20the%20preheated%20oven.%20Let%20cool%20on%20a%20wire%20rack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*See%20that%20adorable%20mini%20milk%20glass?%20I%20HAD%20to%20have%20one%20when%20I%20saw%20it.%20Now%20I%20just%20need%20a%20couple%20more%20in%20regular%20size%20rather%20than%20mini!%20A-DOR-A-BL
