.%20Maybe%20that%E2%80%99s%20a%20bold%20statement,%20but%20living%20here%20for%20almost%20a%20year%20and%20a%20half%20has%20given%20me%20a%20little%20time%20to%20audition%20the%20city%E2%80%99s%20food,%20and%20it%E2%80%99s%20true.%20We%20take%20full%20advantage%20of%20it,%20too.%20If%20we%20aren%E2%80%99t%20going%20out%20with%20local%20friends,%20we%E2%80%99re%20showing%20visitors%20our%20favorite%20spots%20instead.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20example,%20this%20past%20weekend%20my%20sis-in-law%20and%20her%20husband%20were%20visiting,%20and%20we%20went%20to%20Flour+Water%20(tasting%20menu!),%20got%20ice%20cream,%20and%20had%20some%20of%20the%20city%E2%80%99s%20best%20Ramen,%20bubble%20tea,%20and%20a%20slice%20of%20a%20porchetta%20sandwich%20%E2%80%93%20all%20in%20two%20days%E2%80%99%20time.%20Oh,%20and%20Nopalito,%20but%20that%20goes%20without%20saying%20when%20visitors%20are%20here.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20to%20help%20both%20our%20waistlines%20and%20our%20wallets,%20we%E2%80%99ve%20made%20it%20a%20point%20to%20try%20to%20stay%20in%20during%20the%20week,%20and%20to%20make%20really%20smart%20choices%20when%20we%20do%20so.%20That%20generally%20means%20a%20lot%20of%20vegetarian%20eating,%20including%20a%20lot%20of%20healthy%20grains,%20egg%20dishes,%20and%20kale%20%E2%80%93%20typically%20in%20salad%20form.%20Now,%20some%20of%20you%20may%20not%20like%20kale.%20I%20guess%20that%E2%80%99s%20understandable,%20but%20hopefully%20there%20is%20some%20sort%20of%20green%20aside%20from%20iceberg%20lettuce%20that%20you%20do%20like.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20become%20a%20huge%20fan%20of%20the%20following%20mix:%20kale,%20shaved%20brussels%20sprouts%20(which%20I%20used%20to%20despise,%20but%20now,%20they%20have%20a%20sweet%20spot%20in%20my%20heart),%20and%20spinach.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20greens%20alone%20create%20the%20most%20perfect%20trifecta.%20Sure,%20I%20switch%20them%20around%20some%20here%20and%20there,%20but%20generally,%20those%20are%20included%20in%20the%20mix.%20A%20few%20sprinkles%20of%20shaved%20coconut,%20a%20sprinkle%20of%20sunflower%20or%20pumpkin%20seeds,%20a%20handful%20of%20dried%20fruit%20and%20a%20couple%20of%20chopped%20apples?%20You%20almost%20have%20the%20best%20kale/whatever%20green%20salad%20you%20want%20that%20you%20could%20ask%20for.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20fact%20that%20I%E2%80%99m%20writing%20about%20salad%20dressing%20for%20an%20entire%20blog%20post%20should%20be%20proof%20enough%20that%20this%20is%20an%20amazing%20dressing,%20but%20if%20you%20need%20one%20more%20urging,%20I%E2%80%99ll%20say%20it%20again.%20This%20here,%20friends,%20is%20an%20a-ma-zing%20dressing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMiso,%20Carrot,%20&%20Sesame%20Dressing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from%20Bon%20Appetit,%20makes%201%201/2%20cups%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etoss%20this%20dressing%20over%20a%20mixture%20of%20greens%20(we%20prefer%20kale,%20any%20kind)%20and%20add%20whatever%20you%20like.%20We%20make%20a%20habit%20of%20eating%20the%20following%20combo:%20kale,%20shredded%20coconut,%20raisins,%20fresh%20chopped%20apples,%20and%20a%20handful%20of%20nuts/seeds.%20If%20you%20use%20kale%20or%20any%20other%20sturdy%20green,%20give%20the%20dressing%20time%20to%20settle%20into%20the%20salad.%20You%20can%20even%20make%20it%20the%20night%20before%20for%20a%20lunch%20salad,%20and%20with%20kale%20at%20least,%20there%E2%80%99s%20not%20wilty%20action.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ep.s.%20%E2%80%93%20I%20usually%20double%20this%20recipe%20and%20the%20dressing%20will%20last%20for%20a%20week%20or%20two,%20as%20long%20as%20your%20ingredients%20are%20fresh.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etime%20commitment:%2010%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eingredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Einstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20all%20ingredients%20plus%201/4%20cup%20water%20in%20a%20resealable%20container.%20Cover%20and%20shake%20vigorously%20until%20well%20combined.%20Add%20more%20water%20to%20thin%20out,%20if%20desired.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERandom%20Posts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETags:%20Bon%20Appetit,%20carrots,%20Flour+Water,%20ginger,%20miso,%20miso%20dressing,%20Nopalito,%20salad%20dressing,%20sesame%20oil%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
