Ingredientes
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1 c. Brown sugar
- 1Â 3/4 c. Flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Allspice
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 c. Currents
- 2 x Large eggs, well beaten
- 1 Tbsp. Coffee
- 1/2 c. Boiling water
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Cloves
- 1 c. Raisins
- 1/2 c. Finely sliced citron
Direcciones
- Combine coffee and boiling water. Boil 3 min. Strain and cold. Cream sugar with shortening. Add in Large eggs. Beat thoroughly. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking soda,salt, and spices, reserving 1/4 c. of the flour for dredging the fruits. Add in dry ingredients alternately with coffee to first mix. Beat till smooth. Add in fruits. Mix well. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in slow oven (350 F) about 40 min.
