,%20I%20went%20ahead%20and%20pulled%20the%20pork%20loin%20out%20of%20the%20fridge%20so%20I%20could%20cut%20it%20up%20into%20chops%20and%20freeze%20them%20for%20a%20later%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20cut%20raw%20meat,%20I%20place%20it%20on%20a%20large%20cutting%20board%20and%20whip%20out%20the%20electric%20knife%20from%20the%20top%20shelf%20in%20the%20cupboard.%20I%20bought%20this%20for%20my%20husband%20as%20a%20Christmas%20present%20many%20years%20ago%20(something%20he%20insisted%20he%20had%20to%20have%20if%20I%20expected%20him%20to%20carve%20the%20T-day%20turkey)%20but%20it's%20gotten%20a%20lot%20more%20use%20from%20me%20using%20it%20to%20cut%20up%20my%20bulk%20meat%20purchases.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20addition%20to%20cutting%20chops%20from%20the%20loin,%20I%20use%20the%20electric%20knife%20to%20slice%20off%20the%20thick%20layer%20of%20fat%20that's%20on%20the%20back%20side%20of%20the%20loin.%20It's%20not%20exactly%20the%20healthiest%20part%20of%20the%20pork%20loin,%20so%20I%20certainly%20won't%20miss%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20after%20cutting%20up%20the%20whole%20loin%20(8.36lbs%20according%20to%20the%20package%20label),%20I%20divided%20the%20meat%20up%20into%2010%20meals.%20I%20had%203-4%20chops%20for%20each%20meal,%20depending%20upon%20how%20thick%20or%20thin%20I%20cut%20each%20chop%20(the%20thinner%20chops%20were%20grouped%20in%204's%20and%20the%20thicker%20chops%20in%203's).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20chops%20were%20then%20sealed%20up%20in%20food%20saver%20bags,%20and%20voila!%20Ready%20for%20the%20freezer!%20You%20could%20probably%20use%20freezer%20bags%20or%20some%20heavy%20duty%20foil%20for%20the%20meat,%20but%20I%20prefer%20the%20food%20saver%20bags.%20In%20my%20opinion,%20the%20food%20saver%20keeps%20the%20meat%20fresher%20for%20longer%20than%20the%20freezer%20bags,%20since%20there's%20no%20sauce%20or%20anything%20to%20help%20preserve%20the%20meat%20in%20the%20bag.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20may%20have%20spent%20$12.46%20for%20the%20whole%20loin,%20but%20broken%20down%20into%20the%20actual%20cost%20per%20meal,%20it's%20just%20$1.25/meal!%20What%20a%20bargain!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
