%20in%20Chinese.%20As%20usual%20Auntie%20Lan%20would%20remind%20hubby%20of%20this%20occasion.%20Every%20year,%20without%20fail%20Auntie%20Lan%20would%20prepare%20mother-in-law%E2%80%99s%20favourite%20dishes%20to%20serve%20as%20prayer%20offering.%20This%20year,%20instead%20of%20the%20usual%20Teo%20Chew%20Cai%20Kuih%20that%20she%20used%20to%20make,%20hubby%20asked%20her%20to%20make%20Muah%20Chee.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20posted%20this%20snack%20recipe%20back%20in%202010%20before%20when%20I%20resided%20in%20Auckland,%20with%20the%20steaming%20method%20from%20Agnes%20Chang%E2%80%99s%20Hawkers%E2%80%99%20Delights%20cook%20book.%20This%20time%20I%20would%20like%20to%20introduce%20another%20traditional%20method%20of%20making%20Muah%20Chee.%20Shared%20below%20is%20not%20just%20the%20way%20of%20making%20sticky%20rice%20dough%20for%20Muah%20Chee,%20also%20how%20to%20make%20fine%20powdery%20ground%20peanut.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShown%20below%20were%20the%20offering%20dishes%20we%20made%20for%20late%20Mother-in-%20law.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20usual,%20I%20was%20responsible%20for%20my%20signature%20Crispy%20Roasted%20Pork%20Belly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHubby%20did%20an%20awesome%20job%20in%20food%20cutting%20and%20food%20presentation,%20didn%E2%80%99t%20he?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMuah%20Chee%20(%20Glutinous/Sticky%20Rice%20snack)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredient:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESticky%20Dough%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20make%20more%20and%20shelf%20for%20future%20use.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGround%20Peanuts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETry%20to%20make%20the%20roasted%20peanuts%20a%20few%20days%20earlier.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFry%20the%20peanut%20in%20a%20wok%20without%20any%20oil%20with%20medium%20heat,%20or%20oven%20toast%20the%20peanuts%20if%20not%20opting%20for%20frying%20over%20wok/pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20peanuts%20turn%20brown,%20turn%20off%20heat%20and%20place%20peanut%20aside%20to%20cool%20off%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20peanuts%20cool%20off,%20place%20in%20a%20plastic%20bag%20(%20do%20not%20overly%20tied%20up%20)%20and%20air%20cool%20in%20cool%20area,%20do%20not%20keep%20into%20a%20covered%20container.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrind%20roasted%20peanuts%20until%20fine%20powder%20texture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%202%20tbsp.%20sugar%20in%20it%20to%20get%20sweet%20peanut%20powder,%20add%20more%20sugar%20if%20you%20prefer%20so.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETips:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20reason%20for%20not%20keeping%20in%20a%20covered%20container%20is%20to%20avoid%20condensation%20that%20might%20make%20the%20ground%20peanut%20wet%20and%20sticky.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20photo%20showed%20the%20first%20batch%20of%20ground%20peanut%20that%20we%20made%20which%20was%20prepared%20on%20the%20same%20day.%20We%20found%20that%20the%20resulting%20texture%20was%20not%20so%20good,%20a%20bit%20too%20sticky%20and%20not%20powdery%20enough.%20We%20made%20another%20batch%20following%20the%20above%20direction%20and%20the%20outcome%20was%20much%20drier,%20lighter%20and%20powdery%20ground%20peanut.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESticky%20Dough%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20glutinous%20rice%20flour%20and%203%20tbsp.%20sugar%20together%20in%20a%20large%20bowl%20and%20gradually%20add%20water%20into%20it,%20slowly%20transform%20the%20flour%20into%20dough%20form%20and%20place%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext,%20heat%20up%20a%20wok/pot%20of%20water.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20a%20ball%20shape%20of%20sticky%20dough%20and%20flatten%20into%20small%20pan%20cake%20shape.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20flatten%20dough%20into%20the%20wok%20to%20cook,%20finish%20all%20sticky%20dough%20following%20step%203.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20dough%20floats%20on%20the%20water,%20the%20dough%20is%20cooked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20from%20the%20wok%20and%20place%20into%20a%20big%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20cooked%20sticky%20dough%20is%20still%20hot,%20you%20need%20to%20keep%20stirring%20to%20mix%20all%20pieces%20of%20cooked%20dough%20to%20form%20into%20one%20smooth%20sticky%20dough%20(refer%20to%20photo%20on%20texture).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrease%20your%20teaspoon%20with%20a%20little%20oil,%20scoop%20sticky%20dough%20and%20place%20it%20on%20the%20sugar%20and%20ground%20peanuts%20mixture,%20coat%20well%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETips:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeware:%20you%20may%20need%20quite%20a%20bit%20of%20arm%20muscles%20to%20help%20you%20stir%20the%20sticky%20and%20gluey%20dough,%20the%20process%20can%20take%20a%20while%20and%20can%20be%20quite%20tiring.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20keep%20the%20unfinished%20portion%20of%20the%20cooked%20sticky%20dough%20in%20the%20fridge%20(must%20be%20kept%20without%20the%20ground%20peanut%20coating).%20Store%20in%20a%20covered%20container,%20the%20sticky%20dough%20will%20still%20be%20very%20soft%20and%20chewy%20even%20for%20a%20day%20or%20two.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
