Pan Seared Brussel Sprouts with Maple Syrup and Pecans Makes 3 to 4 servings 1 pound brussels sprouts, washed, trimmed and sliced in half2 tbsp extra light olive oil 2 tbsp maple syrupsalt and pepper1/4 cup chopped pecans (plain or candied) 1. Heat a large skillet of medium to high heat. Add the olive oil and the brussel sprouts, making sure that most of the sprouts are cut side down in the pan. Let sear for 7 to 8 minutes until they have caramelized nicely and taken on a golden to dark brown color. Carefully stir in the maple syrup. 2. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the chopped pecans on top before serving.
