Ingredientes
- 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese grated
- 1 c. mayonnaise
- 1 c. pecans minced
- 1 sm onion grated
- Â Â Black pepper to taste
- 1 dsh cayenne

- Mix. Mold with hands into desired shape. Chill till chilled. To serve, fill center with strawberry preserves and surround with crackers.

I hope which you enjoy this hors d'oeuvre recipe submitted to the "Georgia On My Plate Cookbook" by Roslyn Carter, wife of former President Jimmy Carter. In her words, "This cheese ring recipe is a favorite in our community [Plains, Georgia]. When Jimmy and I were in the Georgia Governor's Mansion, I named it the Plains Special cheese ring and served it on many occasions both in the family quarters and for public events. It was a popular dish at the White House, too. So many people asked for the recipe there which we eventually had it printed on cards to handle the requests."
