%20that%20you%20get%20in%20India%20-%20I%20distinctly%20remember%20the%20same%20mention%20in%20one%20hindi%20movie%20too%20........%20sorry%20cannot%20recall%20the%20name%20of%20the%20movie%20-%20but%20do%20remember%20the%20actor%20who%20said%20it%20-%20it%20was%20Paresh%20Rawal.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20when%20Aparna%20who%20pens%20at%20My%20Diverse%20Kitchen%20gave%20us%20an%20option%20to%20bake%20soft%20pretzels%20if%20we%20liked%20-%20I%20said%20yes%20to%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20a%20soft%20pretzel%20only%20once%20at%20a%20mall.%20It%20was%20stuffed%20with%20cheese%20and%20pepperoni%20and%20had%20a%20nice%20sprinkle%20of%20white%20crystals%20of%20salt%20on%20top.%20I%20wanted%20to%20bake%20this%20one.%20However,%20could%20not%20use%20pepperoni%20as%20we%20were%20having%20guests%20over%20and%20they%20did%20not%20eat%20pork.%20So,%20the%20idea%20of%20the%20stuffing%20was%20some%20spicy%20cheese%20with%20jalapenos%20-%20hence%20the%20pepper%20jack%20cheese%20and%20jalapenos%20stuffed%20pretzels%20came%20into%20being%20in%20our%20kitchen.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELoved%20making%20these%20pretzels%20and%20stuffing%20them.%20We%20had%20it%20with%20a%20side%20of%20nacho%20cheese%20and%20some%20marinara%20sauce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAgain%20-%20an%20awesome%20bread%20that%20we%20made%20int%20eh%20group%20-%20a%20new%20learning%20for%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20baked%20this%20bread%20in%20time%20for%20the%20group%20-%20but,%20due%20to%20health%20reasons%20I%20could%20not%20write%20a%20blogpost%20and%20hence%20it%20is%20coming%20a%20tad%20bit%20late%20here%20on%20my%20blog.%20But.......%20as%20the%20saying%20goes...........%20its%20better%20late%20than%20never.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20the%20yeast,%20sugar%20and%20warm%20water%20and%20let%20it%20sit%20for%20about%2015%20minutes%20till%20it%20gets%20nice%20and%20frothy%20-%20this%20is%20to%20proof%20the%20yeast.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20mix%20this%20dough%20by%20hand%20too%20-%20however,%20I%20used%20my%20stand%20mixer.%20In%20a%20food%20processor%20or%20a%20stand%20mixer,%20using%20the%20dough%20blade%20combine%20the%20flour%20and%20the%20salt.%20Add%20one%20egg%20and%20the%20frothy%20yeast%20mixture%20and%20mix%20until%20the%20dough%20comes%20together.%20%20Do%20not%20over%20mix,%20you%20just%20want%20the%20dough%20to%20come%20together.%20%20Turn%20out%20onto%20a%20lightly%20floured%20surface%20and%20knead%20a%20few%20times%20with%20your%20hands.%20%20If%20dough%20feels%20sticky,%20add%20a%20little%20more%20flour.%20%20Form%20the%20dough%20into%20a%20ball%20and%20make%2012%20equal%20portions%20of%20the%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrate%20the%20pepperjack%20cheese%20and%20chop%20the%20jalapenos%20and%20keep%20them%20together%20on%20your%20work%20surface%20-%20I%20divided%20them%20into%2012%20equal%20portions%20each%20(as%20we%20were%20going%20to%20have%2012%20pretzels)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20one%20portion%20of%20the%20dough%20into%20a%20rectangle%20shape%20as%20shown%20in%20the%20above%20picture.%20Add%20one%20portion%20of%20the%20pepperjack%20cheese%20and%20jalapeno%20mixture.%20Roll%20the%20strip%20into%20a%20tube%20and%20form%20into%20a%20pretzel%20shape%20by%20looping%20and%20crossing%20the%20ends%20over%20each%20other,%20then%20tuck%20back%20onto%20the%20loop%20and%20pinch%20to%20seal.%20%20Transfer%20to%20a%20baking%20sheet%20covered%20with%20parchment%20paper.%20%20Repeat%20with%20remaining%20portions.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20425%20degrees.%20%20In%20a%20small%20bowl,%20combine%20remaining%20egg%20and%20milk.%20%20Whisk%20to%20combine%20and%20set%20aside.%20%20In%20another%20small%20bowl%20take%20the%20coarse%20sea%20salt.%20%20Brush%20the%20pretzels%20liberally%20with%20the%20egg%20wash,%20then%20sprinkle%20with%20sea%20salt.%20%20Bake%2018-20%20minutes%20until%20light%20golden%20brown.%20%20Transfer%20pretzels%20to%20a%20wire%20rack%20to%20cool.%20Serve%20with%20cream%20cheese%20and%20hot%20coffee.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
