  • 1 x Round steak, 2-1/2 to 3 lb., cut into individual pcs
  • 1/2 c. Plus 2 Tablespoons self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 c. Vegetable oil
  • 1 c. Half-and-half
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk

Direcciones

  1. Combine 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 t salt and 1/2 t pepper. Dredge the steak pcs in the flour. Using a meat mallet, or possibly, if desperate, the rim of a small plate, lb. the four into the round steak pcs till steak is quite thin. (If using the rim of a plate be careful not to lb. so hard as to break the plate!)
  2. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat; add in steak and brown well on both sides. When browned on both sides, cover skillet,, reduce heat and simmer 10 min. Remove steak, reserving 1/4 c drippings in skillet.
  3. Combine remaining 2 Tbsp. flour, half-and-half, lowfat milk, remaining 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper to taste; stir till smooth. Stir into skillet and cook over medium heat till thickened, stirring constantly. Add in steak, turning to coat with grave; cover and simmer 10 min.
  4. Yield: 4 to 6 servings
