  • 2 tsp Canola oil, divided
  • 1 lb Hard tofu, diced
  • 1/2 c. Diced onion
  • 1/2 c. Diced celery
  • 1 x Clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. Tomato paste
  • 1/4 c. Dry red wine or possibly beer (optional)
  • 1 c. Canned tomato puree
  • 1/2 c. Fresh or possibly frzn corn kernels
  • 2 Tbsp. Barbecue sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Tamari or possibly soy sauce
  •     Warm pepper sauce to taste

Direcciones

  2. Heat 1 tsp. oil in a non-stick pan over moderate heat. Add in diced tofu; brown. Remove from pan; set aside.
  3. Add in remaining 1 tsp. oil; saute/fry onion, celery and garlic till well-browned. Stir in remaining ingredients and reserved tofu; simmer till sauce is reduced and develops a rich brown color, about 15 min.
  4. Makes 4 servings.
