Thanks for trying these, hope they were what you have been looking for :) - 15 de Mayo de 2010Greetings Claudia from the NORTH........i truly do share the passions behind the Portuguese tarts......artery constricting, but oh so delish! My most favorite of course is my mother's sweetbread recipe and these bacon buns my mom made when we were kids! As children we were raised in a remote northern town in Ontario, with many a melting pot of new immigrants from
Europe. So you could image the recipes my mother had accumulated over the years of neighourhood wives sharing in the best of the best that had been passed down from generation to generation in their own families. Half the town was French Canadian and the rest from all parts of Europe, germany, switizerland, italy, portugal, finland etc etc. So in the early 60's these woman (some not even knowing how to speak english very well), shared in the only way they knew best, that being through food and drink........celebrations all around.......LOL So i'll leave it at best that i appreciate good food when i see it........:) Speaking of Aprons Claudia, we have a girl up here that make some pretty funky ones.......i've purchased 2 all ready! I'll leave you the website next and you should ck it out! Hugs.......XX Ana T - 14 de Mayo de 2010Hello Ana...looking forward to some Portuguese spunk behind your future recipes.
A few years back I had the opportunity of traveling through Protugal...fell in love with the country's beauty and its people. I especially dug into those custard pastries 'NATAS' ...mmmm the memories. Did you ever make some? Speaking of visits...I did a feature article on APRONS...let me know what you think. Anyways, welcome to this very diverse and talanted group of cooks and bakers. We always welcome new ad tasty recipes.
Flavourful wishes, Claudia
