Acerca de mí
This, to me, has always been the most difficult question to answer! "Tell me something about yourself."
I am now a stay at home mom to a year old; the days when I used to work in the banking and finance industry seem like a lifetime ago. However, it was only when I quit my job that I got interested in cooking. And once I did, there was no looking back. Today, cooking is a big part of my life, baking and cake decorating are my passions.
Influencias de Cocina
Living in a city that is as multi-cultural as Singapore certainly rubs off! One gets to sample almost every possible cuisine. Throw in an explosion of food-related T.V. programmes and an ease in getting any ingredient you want and then the lure of trying to cook food similar to the one you eat in the restaurants is irresistible!
Initially, I didn't realise it, but the way that my mom approached cooking has really shaped how I cook in the kitchen. She is someone who is never frazzled by the number of people she has to cook for and never gets hassled if she has to put some food on the table without any prior intimation.
And of course, when I got pregnant (and I did have G.D.) was when the focus shifted towards eating food that tasted good and was still healthy and now that has become a part of our lifestyle.
All of these have come together and the result is what you see in my recipe list: global cuisine in an Indian kadhai (wok)!
