I've been interested in cooking ever since I was 2 years old. I remember my mother was measuring flour to bake a cake but stepped out of the kitchen. While she was away - I being fascinated by what she was doing, took the measuring cup and measured the flour for her leveling it with a knife (as housewives often did in the 60's). I poured it into my mother's mixing bowl and ran back to where I was playing. She came back to complete the recipe not knowing a thing. Funny thing though, I don't remember having cake that night. LOL When I was six she bought me a Farberware Miniature Baking and Cooking Set complete with pots, pans, cake pans, cookie sheet, etc. Every time she cooked or baked I was right there cooking and baking with her. Now I'm a mom and I don't hesitate to teach my son who's 13 and also interested in cooking. Thanks MOM! : )
