Growing up, my parents always cooked, and while I helped from time to time, I did not really learn to cook from them. Now that I have to cook for my own kids, I go back to them regularly to ask about recipes. My mom's specialty was desserts, and I guess I got that from her, becuase thats what people request I always bring to functions. I got my love of seafood from my dad, and I still believe he makes the best fried orange roughy anywhere.
I love Martha Stewart for her beauty in table settings, and for her dessert ideas. My whole family also loves Anne Burrell for her no-nonsense recipes. Paula Deen and I share a love of butter, and my husband suggests cooking anything the the Neely's (food network) do.
