I am retired and live along with my husband with our daughter, son-in-law and 9yr old Grandaughter. They both work, and I seem to have become their personal chef. I love trying different recipes, and also as cheaply as possible. We once stayed at a Bed & Breakfast and had the most wonderful Gourmet Breakfast, and one particular dish was something like a bread pudding, but it wasn't. But it was some sort of hot pudding with lots of fruit, and crumbly, but not actually a crumble. All I can remember was that is was absolutly delicious, and I would recognise it if I saw a recipe like it.
I am looking for recipes for goumet breakfasts that can be used either on a Sunday or special holidays.
We love to barbacue a lot in the summer. My so-in-law usually does the cooking of various meats, but I love to help with side dishes and salads that are different. We love every kind of food. Right now I myself am trying to go on a glycemic index diet with low carbohydrates, if anyone knows of any good recipes for this type of diet, I would love to hear from you.

My mother was a very good cook, but When I got married , I think I could just about make scrambled eggs. Consequently when I wanted to try to cook an acceptable meal for my husband, I was back and forth on the phone saying ok I've done that, what do I do next?
Well eventually I was told I was a good cook too. Sometimes I just experimented, throwing anything that was available in a pot or skillet including wine or sherry, and thankfully it usually turned out pretty acceptable.
I love reading cookery books, some of my favorites are Good Housekeeping, and I especially like to see recipes with colored pictures so that I can see what it is supposed to look like. My son-in-law loves watching the cooking channel on TV, but I haven't been brave enough to try any of their recipes yet, I also like to go on line and get different suggestions there. I have only just found this web site and it looks as though it is going to be very exciting
