We’re quite familiar with the pride we own when boasting about having “all our ducks in a row“, and while it is still an elusive entity we’ve all practiced the jig we’d do if “dancing on Cloud 9“. Many times I’ve “stopped to smell the roses” and while they still smell the same day after day and year after year, only of late have I understood why I forced myself to pause for that moment…for me it’s all a “blue lab life”.
It's taken only a single breath for me to name that which has taken me years to actually achieve. As I remember, I’ve had many “blue lab” moments at various stages of my life, and here of late I ‘ve find myself adding more and more instances to that history. I’ve learned what it is that I am good at doing…and I’ve tripped over and uprooted many things I just cannot master…but I have a feeling of ease knowing both ends of my personal spectrum. We don’t know what my “box of chocolates” has in store for us, but we must understand our boundaries, and by that being aware of our limits. Our boundaries expand as we learn…our limits are just that…a limit. That’s the basis of understanding your own “blue lab life”.
If you love to garden, get out there and get your hands dirty. If you find the greatest satisfaction cooking a favorite recipe, get out the pots and pans and cook up somwthing that will make your guests’ eyes roll back in their head as they savour the taste. If you love to build a bookcase, get out the hammer and have at it…just find what you love doing and “do it!” The sense of accomplishment will be as memorable as that nap on a hill, a cerulean sky your only umbrella. Add many of these moments together and understand your own “blue lab life”. I have…of you let me I’ll help you find yours!
