Acerca de mí
I'm learning to experiment in the kitchen.
My wife, of over 58 years, has done most of the cooking---and she's a great and innovative cook. Now that I'm retired she lets me try my hand at some cooking --- and of course she always tells me how great my meals are. My favorite cooking experience is 'grilling ' outdoors - which I've done for more than 55 years. Now I'm making smoothies, blintzes, seafood dishes etc. I even baked a cherry pie once (with lots of coaching) but it was very good.
I could share some inexperienced cooking experiences that are a bit funny but will save that.
Influencias de Cocina
As a very young boy I remember how great the meals were that my grandmother and aunt prepared. They were very widely experienced in many dishes. They were not of german origin but grandma grew up in a german community and ran a boarding house so she cooked with a strong german influence.
My mother was more basic, cooking good but practical meals, similar to what she learned on a western homestead.
My wife is swedish and is very comfortable cooking swedish or other basic dishes. She had quite an influence on helping her parents try new recipes and meals.
I have appreciated the diversity of ethnic cooking styles as we have lived in a variety of ethnic areas.
