  • 6 apples, McIntosh preferred (original recipe calls for McIntosh, but I used a combination of Fuji and Pink Lady and it works well)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, optional (I used 1/8 tsp.)

Direcciones

  1. Peel and core the apples and cut into quarters. Place the apples in an enamel sauce pan with the water and lemon juice, then bring to a boil. Turn the heat down slightly and simmer 30 minutes or until the apples break down and thicken. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and cinnamon.
  2. At this point, you can leave the applesauce very chunky, or you can process it to the consistency you like. I used a potato masher make it a little smoother, but still leaving some small apple pieces intact. You can also put the mixture into a food processor and process to a smoother consistency.
