Receta Applesauce
Ingredientes
- 6 apples, McIntosh preferred (original recipe calls for McIntosh, but I used a combination of Fuji and Pink Lady and it works well)
- 1 cup water
- 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, optional (I used 1/8 tsp.)
Direcciones
- Peel and core the apples and cut into quarters. Place the apples in an enamel sauce pan with the water and lemon juice, then bring to a boil. Turn the heat down slightly and simmer 30 minutes or until the apples break down and thicken. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and cinnamon.
- At this point, you can leave the applesauce very chunky, or you can process it to the consistency you like. I used a potato masher make it a little smoother, but still leaving some small apple pieces intact. You can also put the mixture into a food processor and process to a smoother consistency.
