  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a 3-qt saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, till sugar dissolves. Cook over high heat, without stirring, till mix reaches hard ball stage (260i).
  2. Combine gelatin and egg whites (at room temperature) in a large mixing bowl; heat till stiff peaks form. Pour warm sugar mix in a very thin stream over egg whites while beating constantly at high speed of an electric mixer. Continue beating till mix holds its shape (5 - 10 min). Drop quickly by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper; cold.
  3. Yield: 6 dozen pcs
