Receta Cheese And Onion Soda Bread

Ingredientes
- 2 c. all purpose flour
- 1 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 c. shredded old cheddar cheese
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 c. minced green onion
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 pch cayenne pepper
Direcciones
- Preheat oven to 375 F (190 C).
- In large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, Cheddar cheese, sugar, green onions, baking soda, salt and healthy pinch of cayenne pepper.
- In small bowl, whisk together buttermilk and oil. Add in to dry ingredients all at once; stir with fork till soft dough forms.
- Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface. With floured hands, press dough into ball; knead lightly 10 times. Place on greased baking sheet; gently pat out dough into 6-inch (15 cm) circle.
- With sharp knife, score large X on top of loaf.
- Bake in oven for about 45 min or possibly till golden brown and tester inserted in centre comes out clean.
