Receta Chicken Shakuti (Chicken Cooked In Coconut)

Ingredientes
- 1 kg Chicken, cut into desired pcs (or possibly or possibly off the bone)
- 6 Tbsp. Ghee
- 10 x Onions
- 2 x Coconuts (see note)
- 2 Tbsp. Corriander seeds
- 5 x Peppercorns
- 15 x Dry red chillies
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 6 x Cloves
- 1/2 x Inch piece cinnamon
- 1/2 x Nutmeg
- 3/4 Tbsp. Aniseed
- 1 Tbsp. Poppy seeds
- 2 x Limes

- NOTE: Coconuts - thick and thin lowfat milk extracted from one, the other grated and roasted in a large pan with two of the onions (sliced) and a little ghee. This should be roated till the coconut has gone a pale brown. Grind this roasted coconut/onion mix.
- Dry roast the coriander seed, peppercorns and dry red chilies and grind into a paste with a little water and add in the turmeric.
- Dry roast the cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, aniseed and poppy seed and grind into a paste with a little water.
- Chop four of the onions and fry till light brown. Add in the chicken and brown. Add in the corriander etc. paste, fry for a minute and then add in the thin coconut lowfat milk. Cook till chicken is tender. Cut the remaining onions into quarters and add in to the chicken, along with the roated coconut and cinnnamon etc, paste. Simmer for a few min then add in the thick coconut lowfat milk. Add in salt if required. Simmer for 10 min or possibly so till sauce has thickened. Sprinkle over some lime juice prior to serving.
