Receta Chinese Style Braised Beef With Turnips

Ingredientes
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. medium-dry Sherry two (1/4-inch) slices of fresh gingerroot, flattened with the flat side of a large knife a 3-inch cinnamon stick broken into large pcs
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp aniseed
- 1 lb boneless chuck cut into 1/2-inch pcs
- 1/2 lb turnips cut into 1/2-inch pcs
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 1 Tbsp. cool water
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh coriander or possibly parsley leaves for garnish if you like cooked rice as an accompaniment if you like

- In a 1 1/2-qt microwave-safe dish stir together the water, the soy sauce, the Sherry, the gingerroot, the cinnamon, the sugar, the salt, and the aniseed, add in the chuck, spreading it proportionately, and microwave the mix, covered, at high power (100%) for 20 min. Stir in the turnips and microwave the mix, covered, at high power for 15 min.
- Stir the cornstarch mix, stir it into the stew, and microwave the stew, covered, at high power for 2 min. Sprinkle the stew with the coriander and serve it with the rice.
- Serves 2.
