- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa

,%20some%20vegetable%20soup%20(complete%20with%20purple%20potatoes),%20browned%20butter%20chocolate%20chip%20cookies%20with%20toasted%20coconut%20(for%20Jessi's%20farewell%20snack%20fest),%20and%20a%20simple%20pasta%20dish%20(for%20a%20quick%20dinner).%20%20Sadly,%20school%20has%20been%20getting%20in%20the%20way%20of%20cooking%20and%20more%20importantly%20not%20taking%20photographs!%20%20I%20think%20the%20biggest%20reason%20I've%20been%20falling%20behind%20is%E2%80%A6%20THE%20OLYMPICS!%20%20I%20can't%20even%20being%20to%20describe%20how%20much%20I%20LOVE%20the%20Winter%20Olympics.%20%20I%20can%20honestly%20say%20I%20love%20it%20%20more%20than%20the%20Summer%20Olympics%E2%80%A6%20the%20snow,%20the%20skiing,%20the%20figuring%20skating%E2%80%A6%20and%20seeing%20%20Russia%20dominate%20everyone%20in%20hockey%20(don't%20worry,%20I'm%20still%20cheering%20for%20the%20USA).%20%20Mainly,%20the%20Winter%20Olympics%20really%20make%20me%20miss%20ski%20racing%E2%80%A6%20it%20makes%20me%20want%20to%20run%20a%20GS%20course%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20made%20a%20lot%20of%20desserts%20in%20my%20day%20(obviously)%20but%20all%20my%20housemates%20said%20that%20these%20were%20the%20BEST%20that%20I%20have%20ever%20made.%20%20The%20flavor%20also%20reminded%20me%20of%20Milk%20Duds%20(hence%20the%20name).%20%20They%20are%20amazing%20straight%20out%20of%20the%20oven%20because%20the%20caramel%20is%20so%20gooey,%20but%20you%20can%20also%20zap%20them%20in%20the%20microwave%20for%205%20seconds%20to%20get%20the%20caramel%20all%20gooey%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20dry%20flour,%20salt%20and%20baking%20powder%20in%20bowl%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20butter,%20sugar,%20eggs,%20vanilla%20and%20cocoa%20in%20mixer.%20Gradually%20add%20flour%20mixture,%20and%20mix%20until%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWrap%20dough%20ball%20in%20plastic%20and%20chill%20for%20at%20least%20one%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20out%20cookie%20dough%20on%20floured%20counter.%20Cut%20into%20roughly%201%201/2%20%E2%80%93%202%20inch%20diameter%20circles%20or%20squares%20(the%20shape%20and%20precision%20of%20the%20cut%20section%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20really%20matter%20since%20you%20will%20be%20wrapping%20it%20around%20the%20caramel%20anyway),%20brushing%20extra%20deposits%20of%20flour%20off%20the%20top.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20the%20dough%20around%20an%20unwrapped%20caramel.%20%20Roll%20the%20dough%20back%20and%20forth%20in%20your%20hands%20until%20it%20forms%20a%20smooth%20ball.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20on%20a%20parchment-lined%20baking%20sheet%20(or%20silpat)%20for%2010-12%20minutes%20until%20the%20cookies%20are%20firm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETransfer%20to%20a%20wire%20rack%20to%20cool.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
