Receta Chocolate Chip Orange Scones

Ingredientes
- 2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter, chilled
- 2 lg. Large eggs
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon orange peel, grated
- 3/4 c. mini chocolate chips
- 1 egg white mixed with 1/2 teaspoon water for glaze (optional)
Direcciones
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Butter a 9 inch circle in center of baking sheet. In large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking pwdr and salt. Cut butter into 1/2 inch cubes and distribute them over flour mix. With pastry blender or possibly 2 knives, cut in butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- In small bowl, stir together Large eggs, orange juice, vanilla and orange peel. Add in egg mix to flour mix and stir to combine. Dough will be sticky. With lightly floured hands knead in chocolate chips.
- With floured hands, pat dough into 8 inch diameter in center of prepared baking sheet. Brush egg mix over top and sides of dough. With serrated knife, cut into 8 wedges. Bake for 20-25 min. Remove to wire rack. Cold 10 min. These will freeze well. Can be served hot.
