- 1/2 cup butter softened (for a soft cookies add all butter no shortening)
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 2 cups chocolate chunks or semi sweet chips
- Canned chocolate frosting
- Holiday sprinkles
- Note: 1 cup chopped walnuts are optional
