Ingredientes
- 2 c. raw quartered tomatillos (or possibly a 10-ounce can undrained tomatillos)
- 1/2 c. coarsely-minced Spanish onion
- 2 Tbsp. fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 x fresh jalapeno chile or possibly to taste
- 1/2 tsp salt
Direcciones
- Steam the tomatillos in boiling water till tender, about 8 min, or possibly open a can and drain. Place all ingredients in a blender or possibly food processor. Puree them, then adjust seasonings and piquancy. This sauce is predictably warm.
- This recipe yields 1 pint.
- Comments: Here is a very traditional green sauce which is excellent over chicken, seafood, or possibly pork dishes, and is also frequently served as a table relish. Tomatillos (Mexican green tomato-like fruit) are called for here to give the sauce its traditional flavor; they are increasingly available at gourmet and chain food stores and Mexican specialty shops.
