  2. 1) Preheat your oven to 350 F.
  3. 2) Mash the bananas and then add them to a mixing bowl and mix with butter. Once this is mixed, add the vanilla, sugar and egg and mix again. Once it has an even consistency, mix in the salt, baking powder and finally the flour, and mix this thoroughly.
  4. 3) Pour this mixture into a greased baking pan.
  5. 4) Bake for about 1 hour. Use the toothpick trick to tell when it is done.
  6. The toothpick trick is, quite simply, poking the center of the dessert bread with a toothpick. If no batter sticks to the toothpick, you know it’s done baking. Be careful you don’t burn yourself - remove the bread from the oven before poking it!
