%20spectacular%20namesake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFast%20forward%20a%20few%20years%20to%20the%20newly%20wedded%20years:%20%20I%20introduce%20Husband%20to%20my%20beloved%20Cheesecake%20Factory.%20Love%20at%20first%20sight.%20Gotta%20love%20a%20man%20with%20good%20taste!%20(Even%20better%20if%20this%20means%20our%20date%20nights%20include%20cheesecake!)%20%20Though%20we'll%20giddily%20gobble%20a%20restuarant%20slice,%20we've%20since%20become%20more%20apt%20to%20devour%20a%20savory-sweet%20homemade%20cheesecake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20family's%20current%20favorite=%20dutch%20apple%20pie%20cheesecake.%20This%20is%20my%20own%20rendition%20of%20T.C.F.'s%20dutch%20apple%20caramel%20streusel.We%20carted%20this%20dutch%20apple%20pie%20cheesecake%20to%20lunch%20with%20Husband's%20cousins%20and%20grandmother%20recently.%20I%20was%20a%20little%20nervous%20about%20their%20reaction%20when%20the%20cake%20was%20unveiled---with%20a%20modest%20%22quality%20control%22%20slice%20missing.%20The%20seemed%20to%20hardly%20notice%20as%20the%20flavors%20of%20the%20cake%20mesmerized%20us%20all..Only%20baby%20Summer%20Elizabeth%20was%20unable%20to%20fully%20enjoy%20the%20taste%20treat,%20but%20I'm%20sure%20that%20as%20soon%20as%20we%20introduce%20solid%20foods,%20she'll%20be%20reaching%20for%20a%20plate!%20(Sorry%20Summer,%20but%20you%20won't%20be%20downing%20sweets%20for%20some%20time.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet's%20talk%20upgrades:%20This%20cheesecake%20itself%20is%20superb,%20but%20if%20you%20really%20want%20to%20knock%20some%20socks%20off,%20complement%20the%20dessert%20with%20a%20scoop%20of%20dulce%20de%20leche%20ice%20cream!%20%20It%20never%20hurts%20to%20add%20caramel%20sauce%20atop%20the%20streusel%20when%20serving%20to%20drooling%20dinner%20guests%20either.%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESweet%20Summer,%20Mommy's%20tiniest%20little%20helper.%20Dutch%20Apple%20Pie%20Cheesecake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecookie%20crust:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECookie%20crust:%20Melt%20butter%20and%20stir%20in%20cookies.%20Press%20along%20the%20bottom%20and%20up%20the%20sides%20of%20a%20greased%20or%20parchment-lined%208-inch%20springform%20pan.%20(9%22will%20also%20do.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EApple%20filling:%20Slice%20apples%20and%20place%20all%20apple%20filling%20ingredients%20in%20a%20small%20skillet%20over%20medium-low%20heat.%20Stir%20occasionally%20until%20apples%20are%20softened.%20Cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStreusel:%20Melt%20butter%20and%20add%20remaining%20flour,%20brown%20sugar,%20and%20cinnamon%20to%20the%20bowl.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheesecake%20filling:%20Beat%20cream%20cheese%20until%20smooth.%20Add%20sugar%20and%20beat%201%20minute%20on%20medium%20speed.%20Add%20eggs,%20one%20at%20a%20time,%20scraping%20down%20the%20bowl%20once%20or%20twice%20to%20ensure%20proper%20mixing.%20Pour%20in%20vanilla%20and%20add%20flour.%20Beat%20one%20minute,%20scraping%20bowl%20once.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20half%20of%20the%20cheesecake%20filling%20into%20crust.%20Top%20with%20apple%20mixture.%20Add%20remaining%20cheesecake%20filling.%20Sprinkle%20the%20top%20with%20crumbles%20of%20streusel.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20a%20rimmed%20baking%20sheet%20under%20the%20springform%20pan%20and%20place%20in%20the%20oven%20on%20a%20mid-level%20rack.%20Bake%2030%20minutes.%20The%20edges%20should%20look%20firm,%20but%20the%20center%20still%20a%20little%20wobbly.%20This%20is%20perfection.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20off%20the%20oven%20but%20leave%20the%20cheesecake%20inside%20for%2010%20more%20minutes.%20After%2010%20minutes,%20prop%20open%20the%20oven%20door%20with%20a%20wooden%20spoon%20for%2020%20minutes%20or%20so,%20and%20then%20open%20the%20oven%20door%20for%20an%20hour%20or%20more%20to%20allow%20the%20cheesecake%20to%20cool%20gradually.%20This%20cooling%20process%20helps%20prevent%20cracks%20in%20the%20cake%20without%20the%20splishy%20splashy%20mess%20of%20baking%20in%20a%20water%20bath.%20Refrigerate%206%20hours%20before%20serving.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*%20Tip:%20Keep%20in%20mind%20that%20cheesecakes%20freeze%20extremely%20well.%20If%20you%20need%20to%20transfer%20the%20cake%20to%20a%20serving%20platter,%20it%20is%20easiest%20to%20transfer%20when%20frozen.%20A%20frozen%20cake%20travels%20much%20better%20in%20the%20car%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELinking%20here:%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
